The iconic analog synthesizer, reinvented using the best of our sampling and DSP technologies. The HX-20 is a fresh take on the iconic vintage synthesizer.

Analog icon
The HX-20 is based on one of the most famous and beloved analog synthesizers in history. Known for its versatile semi-modular architecture and iconic front panel design, its musical history spans decades. Introduced in the late 1970s, this small monophonic synth with two oscillators offers a wealth of sonic possibilities and continues to be an inspiring instrument for artists around the world.

More than design
The success of this synthesizer is not due to its aesthetic appearance, but to its combination of exceptional performance and remarkable sound at an attractive price. From analog oscillators to a versatile filter section and a semi-modular design that allows it to integrate with external inputs and larger systems, all in a lightweight and streamlined form factor. The HX-20 is the first instrument in the new HX Series to deliver unprecedented sound with three wavetable and sample generators combined with physically modeled filters.

A modern interpretation of an iconic vintage synthesizer.

Dynamic duo
The HX-20 marks the beginning of the new HX Series, which draws on our teams’ decades of experience in sampling and physical modeling to create flexible and modern instruments with authentic soul. This is made possible by a hybrid approach that combines samples and wavetables based on the source machine with physically modeled filters.

Hybrid engine X
The HX-20 is a continuation of some of our vintage instruments and allows for a deeper exploration of the sound of the original machine. By combining two layers of wavetables, a sample layer, and physically modeled filters, you have access to all the features of the original machine and more. This unique combination of features creates a powerful and attractive sound instrument with incredible versatility.

Analog sound as reference
The new HX-20 wavetable generators open up new sonic dimensions for exploration. By recording the sound of the original machine in its entirety, you gain greater flexibility and more nuance in the raw sound of the machine. You will also have access to very high quality sample layers and presets developed by our teams.

Inspirational Presets
Bass, Brass, FX, Keys, Leads, Pads, Pluck, Sequences, Arps – you will have access to 222 presets. Built from a bank of over 13,000 hardware samples arranged in 182 layers, the HX-20 sounds with genuine analog soul and offers a wide range of inspiring and useful patches for your productions. The layered architecture allows you to layer and modulate sounds, giving you limitless sound design possibilities.

Creative architecture
The HX-20 offers a set of powerful and versatile tools that allow you to not only customize existing patches, but also create your own. Two hardware wavetable oscillators and one sample-based oscillator feed a pair of analog filters with ADSR envelopes and numerous easy-to-set modulation sources. A powerful arpeggiator/fraser with numerous presets allows you to create sequences. A full range of effects and macros are available for deeper audio manipulation.
