Description: Sample library for Hauptwerk organ emulator
Organ of the Church of St. Nicholas of the Dutch city of Vollenhove (Grote of Sint Nicolaas Kerk, Vollenhove/Overijssel, The Netherlands)
was built in 1686 by master Apollonius Bosch.
In 1720, it was reconstructed and expanded by Frans Caspar Schnitger, the son of organ builder Arp Schnitger.
The organ was expanded and reconstructed later in the 19th century (in 1860 master Jan van Loo added pedal registers),
but some other recent changes were reversed during the 1977 restoration.
The characteristic tone of the instrument’s sound is set by the Prestant, a warm-sounding principal register preserved from 1686 with pipes located on the avenue.
It is also worth noting the division of several registers into bass and treble ranges.
