Description:Native Instruments ABBEY ROAD VINTAGE DRUMMER – vintage drums for KONTAKT
Native Instruments has unveiled the ABBEY ROAD VINTAGE DRUMMER, a new instrument for KONTAKT that recreates the sound of two 1940s drum kits.
The first set consists of a 26″ Leedy bass drum from 1940 and two late 1930s toms that once belonged to legendary drummer James Blades. This combination provides an open sound that is well suited where an unfocused sound with powerful punches is required. bottoms.

The classic Slingerland Radio King (1940) was also sampled for this library. The 22″ Slingerland bass drum and two tom toms (13″ and 16″) have a tighter sound than James Blades’ kit, but still create a warm tone that will appeal to anyone looking for a unique, natural drum sound. Adding to the authenticity of this instrument, both sets were recorded with original calfskin drums, 1920s snare drums and original Trans Stamp and First Stamp Zildjian cymbals.

VINTAGE DRUMMER was recorded at Abbey Road Studios (London) in the legendary Studio Two, built in 1930 for recording large jazz orchestras. Along with traditional microphones, two rare vintage EMI microphones from the 1930s were used to give VINTAGE DRUMMER its unique tonal color. Users can mix these “vintage channels” in any proportion with modern equipment to produce a wide range of unique tones.

For the first time in the ABBEY ROAD Series, VINTAGE DRUMMER features the ability to use brushes for drumming. Users receive inspiring techniques for playing with brushes along with sticks. All articulations are also represented in the groove library, which contains patterns for ragtime, traditional jazz and swing, as well as modern soul, funk and indie styles.
