Description : Swell is a Kontakt instrument and sound effects library designed to create naturally sounding accruing sound from various cymbals. We attracted a professional drummer to perform each of the buildups, and during the recording sessions we used a wide range of forms and sizes of cymbals. The cymbals included gong, orchestral hanging plates, crashes, tea sets, hissing rides and others.
Special attention was paid to the highest quality of sound and detail when recording each performance. We chose relatively free space for ultra-low wave reflections and recorded with John Hardy M1 preamps for large, pure amplification. Schoeps and Neumann microphones were used to get a wider coverage of each dish.
Swell is divided into 2 parts: Natural and Designed.
Natural – has recordings that did not change relative to their original source and were recorded in order to create pure, musical, naturally sounding increases.
Designed – samples based on natural recordings are used, but which have been transformed into completely new and different sounds using heavy processing and layering. It was created to quickly and easily create interesting designs and transitional sounds. Swell includes more than 200 fully engineered build-ups.
In addition to carefully recorded sounds, we have created a truly useful and flexible instrument. This tool binds the modulation wheel to the entire matrix of effect parameters, which you can manipulate in real time to instantly create complex sounds.
