Quality: 24 bit 44.1 kHz stereo

Description: Guitar + Guitar Synthesizer. The combination of the Roland GS-500 guitar and the Roland GR-500 synthesizer is the world’s first guitar synthesizer.
Released in 1977, this hybrid system predated the advent of MIDI, so it operated by implementing CV-Gate driven signals identical to modular synthesis signals. Its infinite sustain system is also amazing as it is based on an electromagnetic principle that connects two magnets to six strings looped into the synthesizer’s microphones. This allows you to create notes and chords that never seem to stop.

New combination type :
The GS and GR-500 were an entirely new type of hybrid instrument, combining guitar and synthesizer sounds that could be controlled simultaneously. This innovative and at the time expensive combination continues to inspire enthusiasm, which is why we decided to dedicate a product to it. Its innovative features, ease of play and natural response result in a powerful, versatile and fun sound bank ranging from distorted guitar tones to soft synth notes.

Vintage Innovation :
The GS-500 guitar and GR-500 synth engine were designed as the world’s first true guitar synthesizer.
More astonishing than its original release date of 1977 is the fact that this early guitar synth predates MIDI, functioning instead using an implementation of the CV and GATE signals common to modular synthesis.
Another incredible feature was the built-in infinite sustainer system, utilizing grounded frets and a customized humbucker for incredible sustained notes and chords across all 6 strings.

A New Kind of Hybrid :
The GS and GR-500 represented a completely new kind of hybrid instrument, fusing the sounds of guitar and synthesizer and allowing them to be controlled at the same time. Expensive and somewhat of a novelty at the time, we’ve grown quite partial to the feel of this combo. The innovative features, incredible playability, and natural responsiveness have transformed into a powerful, flexible, and fun library capable of everything from big fuzz guitar tones to sweet synth pads, and more.
