Description : A new innovative standard in the sampling of the orchestra library, which will significantly expand your existing orchestral palette, including a huge variety of completely unique textures. As an alternative to the simple use of simple long notes, this library relies on a dot effect, which means that several players play short notes at random intervals to create a wavy sound that can be performed in real time to produce impressive results. Taking the “Swarm” approach, but adapted for the orchestra, it gives you access to even more detail, using a huge variety of articulations and styles of playing orchestral instruments and will give your compositions a fluid dynamic that will dance alongside the imagery. This library was created exclusively in collaboration with Bleeding Fingers and is represented in Blue Planet ii and Hans Zimmer / Radiohead in collaboration with “(ocean) bloom”.
New orchestral sound : This library represents an innovative collaboration with Bleeding Fingers (Planet Earth II, Sons Of Liberty, Roman Empire: Reign Of Blood) who wanted to create this library for use in the flagship BBC series: Blue Planet II. Their concept was to record several players performing random short notes of the same tone. The effect will be a granular “cloud” of notes – beautiful long sound textures created from layers of micro-moments that will be used instead of more traditional long notes. Now we in Spitfire know this approach well – this is the method we use for our Swarm libraries, and this opportunity pushed us to conquer a new territory – to use the power of the orchestra with this technique. We quickly delivered the source library for the team from Bleeding Fingers to use exclusively for the show. Hans Zimmer and Radiohead even continued to use it as part of their “(ocean) bloom” collaboration. Then we returned to the studio to record even more with the orchestra, including short notes and advanced techniques and layers to create the most complete instrument for media composers. This new texture approach to orchestral sampling will add life to your arrangements. Join the pioneers of modern concert music.
Ocean of possibilities : The library consists of various ensembles of strings, brass and woodwinds recorded individually and using the Swarm point approach, using the most idiomatic methods for these instruments. Many of these sounds have never been sampled before. We used a wide range of methods and combined them using the “Swarm” approach (where players each randomly play short notes to create a beautifully random sound cloud) to give a significantly enlarged sound palette to your existing orchestra. The included individual ensemble shots also expand your capabilities, allowing you to add a rhythmic element to your work. In addition, the two reverberations provided on board – a hard “studio” sound and a longer “hall” sound – gives a breeze when mixed with your orchestral libraries.
