Our second joint venture with the world renowned London Contemporary Orchestra took us to a stunning aircraft hangar for the recording process. Together we created a completely unique, never-sampled sound palette – a complex collection of ever-evolving organic textures formed by layering unexpected instrument combinations. Leveraging the signature workflow, performance styles and innovative technologies that have made LCO so sought-after, we’ve created textures made up of indefinable, immersive sounds. Our need for unprecedented acoustics led us to the most extraordinary recording space in the Spitfire’s eleven-year history – a deep hangar with a surprisingly long reverb tail, adding incredible resonance to every note. Enhanced by our unique Evo Grid, we give you access to a cutting-edge, inspiring collection of instantly renderable, mesmerizing textures that will add incredible depth and color to your composition.
Following the continued popularity of London Contemporary Orchestra Strings, our next collaboration with LCO was set to be even more extraordinary. Our collective ambition was to achieve something that no one in the sampling world had done before – inspired in part by the studio’s recent orchestral collaborations including Suspiria with Thom Yorke, The Innocents with Carly Paradis, American Animals with Anne Nikitin and You Are Never Really Here with Jonny Greenwood. We’ve taken familiar, pre-existing organic instruments and combined them in unique ways to create undefinable, expressive and contemporary sounds and textures – much like an artist using a variety of disparate colors to create a new, multi-tonal palette, bringing together world-class performers and 10 years of experience work in contemporary classical music and world cinema, as well as Spitfire’s sampling expertise and pioneering Evo Grid technologies. With the power of sampling, we’ve created new instruments that you’ll never be able to recreate outside of a sampler – making the impossible possible.
