Description : HoRNet SW34EQ MK2 – the equalizer of the 80s. This is the digital version of the equalizer found in the American console and it has the typical analog sound and controls.
This plugin is specifically modeled as one channel of this console and used in the main room of Virus Studio in Siena, Italy. This equalizer is very smooth and soft in both types (bell-shaped and shelf), and it is almost perfect for general tone shaping, especially the low shelf gives weight to the sound without over-pumping. You also get a high-pass filter that can be activated even if the rest of the equalizer is not activated.
SW34EQ MK2 not only models the equalizer curves, but also the saturation characteristics of the original device, we spent time modeling the saturation of each individual band. We are talking here about the console of the 80s, so everywhere in the signal path there is an operational amplifier, and the saturation basically generates even harmonics, but with increasing gain many odd harmonics appear. Of course, hissing is also modeled, but all emulation can be turned off.
The MK2 version of this plugin combines the favorite sound of many with a new nice graphical user interface, and also adds some nice new features. In this version, it is much easier to control the frequency and gain of each band, because when you hover the mouse over one of the controls, a double-handle window appears, making it easy to change these parameters.
You can adjust the frequency of the high-pass filter, and we also added a low-pass filter (12 dB / octave), which was not on the source equipment.
