Recording the sounds of trees, pond lapping and rooster cackling in the Catskills, New York, Daniel Friedman (drums for David Byrne) and Brian Rosenworth (drums for Guster / Thundergod Percussion) present the Splice set from the inside and outside of a barn in upstate. When these two friends and drummers realized that they could make drum kits from the pine trees behind Brian’s house, Barn Percussion was born. Grooves have been found in rivers and tunnels, on rocks and old tractor wheels, and wherever nature has shown its impact potential.
