Producers of electronic music (especially Hip-Hop) have long known that classical samplers (for example, Akai and E-MU) had their own character and sound: they added “sand” and “dyed” the samples and magnifiers that reproduced, making their “fat” and helping to sit well in the mix. This coloration of the sound was associated with encoding methods, a lower sample rate and bit depth, and the conversion circuits used by these first samplers. Decimort recreates this color and adds the magic that vintage samplers added to any magnifying glass, any bass line, or any sound played through them! On the one hand, Decimort is an emulation of a vintage sampler, and on the other, an ideal bit-crusher with a filter that can be extremely tuned to achieve dramatic results.
