Description : Colossal in size and musical scope, the grand piano is the unmistakable centerpiece of any orchestral setting. In this EKX add-on for EZkeys 2, we’ve taken perhaps the grandest of grand pianos, placed it in one of the most immaculately designed studio rooms ever built, and used the very best the world has to offer in terms of recording technology to capture it. The result is immaculately grand, stunningly epic in every way imaginable.
The instrument in question is the Steinway* D-274, one of the most famous instruments of its kind in the world and a top choice for concert halls around the world. This majestic, one-of-a-kind 274-centimeter-long colossus is a marvel of engineering and craftsmanship, comprising 12,000 individual parts assembled with the utmost precision. To capture it, there’s no better place to go than the main room at Galaxy Studios – the same room where the core library for Superior Drummer 3 and several other Toontrack libraries were recorded. It’s 3,300 square feet and an intimidating floor-to-ceiling height, with an ambience designed for natural yet controlled reverberation. To provide the flexibility to handle everything from full-scale and orchestral to intimate and scaled-down projects, the recording system included an array of 19 individual microphones. In the final product, these microphones are used to create mix-ready presets that showcase the instrument in a wealth of different microphone configurations and tones. In addition to the sounds and presets, the package includes a basic MIDI collection, unique to the product and tailored to the instrument.

Copy the EZK2-OrchestralGrand folder to the directory where the rest of the EZkeys 2 libraries are located.
