Functionality – There are only three controls in the plugin interface; Drive, Trim and the three-step Normal / Bright switch, all of which do exactly what they are called.
Usability – Tapehead works best when you want to use it in moderation. For example, it’s really easy for vocals to add enough grit without clipping or distortion, which is surprisingly rare in saturator plugins. But how good TapeHead sounds on vocals and on drums.
Again, you do not need to customize the plugin. Insert it into the drum mix and set it to Bright. With small settings, you will notice that the sound of the drum as a whole becomes denser and sounds more present in your mix without changing the overall tone.
